Reaching its fastest speed ever, Amazon offers the widest range of products to US Prime members.
Amazon aims to reduce costs by improving its operational networks, while leveraging all available technologies to maximise both environmental sustainability and employee safety.
Building on the progress made in recent years, Amazon continues to strive for faster deliveries, an even greater variety of product options and an improved customer experience.
When we introduced Prime in 2005, our primary benefit to members was Free Two-Day Shipping on more than 1 million products (Jeff Bezos famously called it “all-you-can-eat shipping”) – Today, Prime has evolved significantly, offering more than 300 million products eligible for free Prime shipping, as well as tens of millions of popular products eligible for free Same Day or One Day Delivery. As a result, it achieved its fastest Prime delivery rates to date in the last quarter.
In the 60 largest metropolitan areas in the US, more than half of Prime member orders are delivered the same day or the next day. This year alone, we have successfully delivered more than 1.8 billion items to Prime members in the US via same-day or next-day delivery. That’s nearly quadrupling the speed of delivery at this point in 2019.
The evolution of Prime benefits and membership convenience since its introduction has been positive, both in terms of industry importance and customer perception. Members have chosen to enrich the PRIME MEMBERSHIP offer by realising the privileges and conveniences that await them after their first purchase.
